New Help Desk to Roll Out 8/30/2010
Aug 29th
You’ve asked and we’re delivering!
You requested less hold time and a true 24/7/365 help desk to support your employees computer needs and we’re delivering. Our new and improved help desk will always answer the phone live (no more voicemail & callback) in 5 minutes or less 24/7/365, even on holidays.
Just as it is now – In the event that the first level technician cannot solve the issue, the ticket will be escalated to the appropriate staff member to resolve the issue.
Q. How will the help desk change?
A. Previously we staffed the help desk from 7 AM to 7PM PST Monday – Friday (excluding holidays) and any calls outside of those hours would be sent to our answering service to page the on-call technician. With the new help desk infrastructure we are staffed 24/7/365 with technicians – no more answer service, no more after-hours support.
Q. Does this affect my monthly price?
A. Not in most cases. If there needs to be any kind of adjustment in the monthly rate one of our Account Managers will be reaching out to you prior to the change.
Q. Where are the new call-centers?
A. We have several across North America. The main call-center office is in Los Angeles and there a several offices in the Pacific Northwest and in Canada.
Q. When will the transition happen?
A. Quick Support Desk will begin transitioning customers on 8/30/2010 and all customers should be migrated by no later than 9/15/2010. All customers will be notified by email once the transition has been completed on their account.
Q. Will the phone number or email address change for support?
A. No, there will be no change in how support is requested currently. The support queue number is 858-356-5538 option 2 * or by sending an email to support@quicksupportdesk.com.
If you have additional questions/concerns regarding this transition please call the Account Management team at 858-356-5538 option 3. As always, Quick Support Desk’s Account Managers welcome any feedback regarding the service you receive from our technicians.
*Please note that only customers with a current support contract will be served when calling the support queue. To inquire about obtaining a support contract call 858-356-5538 option 1 to speak with a sales representative.
Why is MS Exchange so Special? Hosted Exchange Benefits
Aug 16th
Microsoft Exchange offers several benefits over standard POP (most standard email in Outlook) or web-based (gmail, yahoo, etc) email accounts. For quite some time now Exchange has been used by big companies because of the enhanced functionality.
One of the main features of Exchange is the ability for users to share their calendars, contacts, and even mail folders (Inbox, Sent, etc.) with other users. Sharing comes in very handy, especially for busy executives who have assistants scheduling appointments and replying to emails for them.
Another built-in feature of Exchange is the ability to synchronize your contacts, calendar, and email with a mobile device such as iPhone, Android, or Windows Mobile phones (there are add-ons which make Blackberry’s work too … they are a little extra however). Now, you may be saying “I get my emails on my computer and my phone already” – that may be true however, do your contacts, calendar AND email synchronize automatically? When you delete an email, contact, or calendar item from your computer does it automatically delete from your mobile device or vise versa? With Exchange everything remains in sync all the time…in real-time, no need to plug in your device to sync data anymore.
The last benefit of Exchange that I am going to talk about here is the free-busy features when scheduling meetings with your team. When your scheduling a meeting which will including other team members you want to make sure that those team members have availability on their calendar. Typically, if your a Microsoft Outlook user, you send out a calendar invite and then wait for an accept or decline to that scheduled date/time right? With Exchange all you have to do is put your teammates email address into the invite list and ta-da, there is your teammates available time slots! Now you can say to your client, “Oh, I see Jane isn’t available at that time, could we schedule for 2pm instead…” Much more professional then calling back with an “oops” message once you’ve already hung up.
